The Taxonomies & Controlled Vocabularies SIG holds an annual face-to-face meeting in conjunction with the annual conference of the American Society for Indexing. There are also presentations or workshops on taxonomies and controlled vocabularies at the ASI conferences.

Taxonomy Tuesday - meets on the third Tuesday of very month 12:00 – 2:00 at different federal office sites in Washington, DC, for presentations and discussion on taxonomy issues, especially for federal agency taxonomists. The focus of the 2008 Taxonomy Tuesday meetings will be on information sharing and integration.
Earley & Associates run a free Jumpstart Conference Call Series bi-annually and offer monthly taxonomy web/phone presentations for a fee.

Taxonomies & Controlled Vocabularies SIG members are encouraged to submit presentation proposals to any of the above conferences, keeping in mind that submission proposals are typically required at least 6 months in advance.
